The Core Inserter is designed to insert a core into a wound roll of membrane material as it is ejected off the Winder mandrel.
The process begins when a core is dispensed from the storage hopper and engaged against the end of the mandrel. The core is held suspended in place on the one end by the mandrel and on the opposite end by a retractable support arm. Once a roll of roofing membrane has been wound on the mandrel, it is ejected off the mandrel by the Winder and onto the core. A driven roller conveyor under the core supports the roll as it is ejected on to the core. Once the roll has been fully ejected onto the core the support arm retracts and the wound roll with core is driven off the conveyor for transport to the palletizer.
