Driven Shock Roll System

DRIVEN SHOCK ROLL SYSTEM

The Driven Shock Roll System is located between the finished product accumulator and the winder, where it helps stabilize the membrane as it transitions into the winding stage. The system combines an S-Wrap Pull Roll, shock roll unit, membrane guide, and dancer roll to manage material flow and maintain controlled conditions leading into the winder.

Its primary function is to maintain consistent membrane tension while isolating the sudden shock that occurs at the start of each winding cycle. The shock roll unit uses a high-speed, servo-driven dual roll carriage that responds to signals from the winder and feedback from the integrated dancer roll. This coordinated response allows the system to absorb tension spikes and dampen disturbances before they affect upstream equipment. The result is a more controlled winding process, helping support consistent roll formation and smoother overall line performance.
