SURFACING SECTION

For Modified Bitumen Membrane Production

SURFACING SECTION

The surfacing section of a modified bitumen membrane line is responsible for applying both top and bottom surfacing materials to the freshly coated asphalt sheet. Its primary function is to accurately deliver and distribute the material so the proper amount is applied before it is embedded into the asphalt. Any excess granules that are not captured by the coating are collected and returned to the process, helping reduce waste and support continuous production.

Reichel & Drews surfacing sections are engineered to provide dependable material application across the width of the product while maintaining smooth, consistent material flow. By helping control granule distribution, the system promotes a uniform surface appearance and minimizes variation from one edge to the other. Material handling and recovery components work together to efficiently recirculate excess granules, while integrated controls provide operators with greater insight into system performance. This combination helps improve process stability, reduce the need for manual adjustments, and support efficient production across a range of operating speeds.
