The finished product looper provides a controlled buffer between upstream production and downstream cutting and handling. After the shingle sheet has been cooled and stabilized, it enters the looper where it continues to cool as it is stored in a series of loops. This accumulated material allows the line to maintain continuous operation by absorbing speed differences or short interruptions downstream. Instead of stopping the entire line, the looper can temporarily build or release material as needed, helping keep production steady and reducing disruptions.
Reichel & Drews finished product loopers are designed to manage material smoothly while maintaining consistent sheet tension and alignment. Our systems are engineered to release loops in a controlled manner, preventing stretching, wrinkling, or damage to the finished product. Because the looper is integrated with upstream cooling and downstream cutting equipment, it responds as part of a coordinated process rather than operating independently. This helps maintain stable line speeds, reduces downtime caused by downstream interruptions, and supports consistent product flow through the final stages of production.
