Unlike other industry available cooling belts, the Reichel & Drews Carrierless Membrane Cooling Belt is specifically designed to work in collaboration with the Coating Box Modules to produce high quality carrierless waterproofing membranes.
The Cooling Belt performs several functions in the carrierless membrane production system. First and foremost, it cools the base film during and immediately after coating application. Membrane cooling is accomplished by spraying chilled water on the underside of the belt, and in some instances spraying atomized water on the top surface of the membrane after the top surface film is applied.
The Cooling Belt also fully supports and transports the membrane during the coating application process. This eliminates tension on the membrane during the coating process, which prevents necking of the product.
In addition to features designed to produce a quality carrierless membrane product, the Cooling Belt is also designed to facilitate efficient maintenance and part replacement. The cooling belt drum provides constant and appropriate tension to the stainless-steel belt. Once set, the drum automatically adjusts over the life of the belt.
