The film unwind unit is located at the entry end of the cooling belt and applies polyethylene film or silconized paper and bottom side selvage edge film to the cooling belt for application of bitumen coating. The unit incorporates a movable carriage that can be manually pulled from the machine center into the walkway area for reloading.
A bowed roll assures optimum delivery of the film onto the cooling belt. The bowed roll consists of a special rubber shell, with rigid axle and maintenance-free precision roller bearings.
